Summary

Dune Messiah is a science fiction novel by Frank Herbert, the second in his Dune series of six novels. It was serialized in Galaxy magazine in 1969. The story continues the struggles of Paul Atreides, better known as Muad'Dib, the messiah of the Fremen of the planet Arrakis. Paul must confront the consequences of his own legend, as his Jihad has spawned a fanatical following that has turned against him. He must also contend with the schemes of the Bene Gesserit Sisterhood and the remaining Houses of the Landsraad.
